Coach John Angelo

Defensive Line

John Angelo was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. Coach Angelo played at Chaney High School and was an All-State Defense End in 1980. After high school, Coach Angelo attended Tulane University where he played Outside Linebacker from 1980-1983. He graduated from Tulane in 1984. Angelo then became a Graduate Assistant Outside Linebacker Coach at his alma mater under former Notre Dame Head Coach, Bob Davie. He served as an Area Scout for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1989. In 1990 he moved to the high school ranks, serving as an assistant coach at Dunedin High School until he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator in 1996. From 1997-2001, he served as the defensive line coach at Clearwater Central Catholic High School. In the fall of 2020, Angelo became a defensive assistant at Countryside. His duties this fall will include Defensive Line Coach.
